The Trail Smoke Eaters Hockey Club and the Best Western Terra Nova Hotel are proud to host the 4th Annual Home of Champions Hockey Alumni Banquet and Golf Tournament.
This year, the Smoke Eaters are teaming up with the Gene Lenardon ALS Society for their largest fundraising event of the season..
Following last year's successful event which featured the hometown father and son duo of Norm and Tim Lenardon. Norm Lenardon suggested that the Smoke Eaters combine their event with the ALS Society fundraiser in honour of his wife Gene who passed away from the disease more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
Headlining this year's event will be the general manager of the Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks, Brian Burke and local goaltending legend Cesare Maniago. More well known hockey personalities are expected to attend so check back often for updates.
The tournament and banquet will feature:
Friday Night
- Full 7 course Italian Banquet at the Cominco Arena.
(Happy Hour - 6:00 pm, Dinner - 7:00 pm)
- Live and Silent auctions
- Catch up with old friends, hockey alumni and hockey personalities.
- Help to raise funds for the ALS Society
Saturday Afternoon
- Golf Tournament at the Rossland-Trail Country Club's beautiful Birchbank course (18 hole, 3 man scramble)
- Tee prizes, on course prizes, prizes for the top 15 teams!
- Barbecue Dinner at Birchbank
- Over $4000 in prizes
Proceeds
- Net proceeds from the weekend will go to the
Trail Smoke Eaters Education Fund and the Gene Lenardon ALS Society
Registrations, including payment in full, must be received prior to June 30 / 2008.
Registrations will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Don't delay, last year's tournament was a sellout and this year's is filling up fast .
