Cranbrook native, 17 year old, 5′ 11″, 203 lb. Korbyn Chabot, leading scorer of the Kimberley Dymiters has signed with the Trail Smoke Eaters.
Korbyn was in his second full year with the Dynamiters. In the 2015/16 season in 42 games he had 13 goals and 6 assists for 19 points. To date this seaosn in 25 games Korbyn had 20 goals, 14 assists for 34 points. He was in 16th place in KIJHL league scoring. The Dynamiters are currently in second place in the Eddie Mountain Division with 42 points just two points behind the Creston Valley Thunder.
His first game as a carded Smoke Eater was Trail’s O/T loss to Penticton on Wednesday night where he picked up his first point in the BCHL. He had played 4 previous games with the Smokies as an affiliate player.
“He is a tough, physical presence in the lineup and has a heavy shot and good hockey sense.” commented Smokie’s coaching staff.
The Trail Smoke Eater organization welcomes Korbyn to the Smoke Eaters and to Trail.
