
Seth Martin was born on May 4, 1933 in Rossland, British Columbia, Canada. Goalkeeper. He represented his home town Trail Smoke Eaters at the IIHF World Championship in 1961 in Switzerland and won a gold medal after allowing only 11 goals against in 7 games. Seth Martin represented Canada also in the IIHF World Championships in 1963, 1964, 1966 and 1967 winning bronze medals in four championships. He participated in the Olympic Winter Games 1964 in Innsbruck finishing fourth. Seth Martin was elected as best IIHF World Championship goalkeeper in 1961, 1963, 1964 and 1966 (only second to Jiri Holecek) and was elected to the championship All-Star team in 1961, 1964 and 1966. Seth Martin also played professional ice hockey in the NHL with the St.Louis Blues for one season. He now resides in Trail, B.C., Canada.
He was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 1997.
