Trail, British Columbia (October 30th, 2017) – The Trail Smoke Eaters are pleased to announce the commitment of Sean Donaldson for the 2018-2019 season.
Donaldson — a 5’10” forward is a product of the Burnaby Winter Club — marks the first recruitment for the Trail Smoke Eaters 2018-2019 season. The team is pleased to secure a high-end player out of an elite program, well in advance of the upcoming season.
Donaldson spent last year for the BWC Elite 15’s, where he registered 20 goals and 37 points in 30 games for the club. This season, Donaldson has played for the BWC Prep team and currently sits second in team scoring, tallying 13 points in 10 games in the highly competitive Canadian Sport School Hockey League. Donaldson visited Trail earlier this season, when he suited up for the Smoke Eaters for a home game against Powell River.
Sean had a very positive experience during his visit to Trail which helped make his decision. “Getting up to Trail was an awesome experience, seeing the amazing facilities first hand, as well as getting a feel for the historic town. Playing in that building in front of the best fans in the BCHL really gave an extra drive and excitement to play. That opportunity gave me a great taste of what the league is like and showed me the work that I have to do in the next ten months to come in to the league as an impact players next season,” said Donaldson.
The Smoke Eaters organization would like to welcome Sean and his family to our team and look forward to following his progress for the remainder of this season with the Burnaby Winter Club and are excited to see him wear a Smoke Eaters Uniform next fall.
