Evan MacEachern, who had a stellar year with the Smokies this past season and was the Captain of the team has committed to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues for the 2016/17 season. Evan joined the Smokies part way through the 2014/15 season and in 14 games collected 5 assists. In 45 games this past season he had 9 goals and 16 assists for 25 points. More importantly his leadership abilities proved to be a great asset to the team.
“I’m extremely proud to be joining the University of Toronto Varsity Blues this upcoming season quoted MacEachern. I believe it will be a great experience for both my hockey career and my studies. Moving on from junior hockey will be a new challenge but one that is very exciting. I’m proud to say I was a part of the Trail Smoke Eaters organization who prepared me for the next level with their number of resources and the opportunity I was given. I want to thank the volunteers, coaching staff, as well as my billet families the Martin’s and Flick’s.”
