Trail, British Columbia (May 1st, 2017) – The Trail Smoke Eaters are proud to announce that 20-year-old graduating player, Josh Laframboise has committed to Lakehead University for the 2017-2018 season.
The Lakehead University Thunderwolves compete in the CIS as part of the Ontario University Athletics West. The signing will allow Josh, who is a native of Thunder Bay, to move closer to home.
Laframboise joined the Smoke Eaters as part of a summer trade with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. After coming to Trail, Laframboise added offence, leadership, and intensity that the team needed. His 25 goals and 53 points put Laframboise fourth among team scorers and placed him in the top 25 in the BCHL. Before suffering an injury, Laframboise was a critical part of the Smokies playoff run, averaging almost one point per game.
