Trail Smoke Eaters Director of Marketing Allison McCarthy was recognized as the 2025-26 Marketer of the Year, after a vote was conducted with business staff from all 20 BCHL teams. McCarthy previously won the award following the 2021-22 season.
“It is an honour to be recognized with this award,” said McCarthy, Director of Marketing for the Trail Smoke Eaters. “I’m fortunate to work with an incredible team that makes coming to work every day enjoyable. They constantly support new ideas, embrace creativity, and help bring our vision to life. Together, we strive to create memorable experiences for our fans, partners, and community.”
“I’m especially proud of the initiatives we’ve built and grown over the years, including Smokies in Our School nights, the annual Wiener Dog Races, Drop the Gloves and Sock It to ’Em Teddy Bear Toss Night, and the continued development of SMOKIEPALOOZA Music Fest, which returns to Butler Park on September 11, 2026. I’m also proud of the meaningful community connections our players make through programs such as Salvation Army Kettle bells, Reading in Schools, and Skating with the Smokies.”
“A big part of our success comes from the incredible corporate partners who invest in our organization. Their support helps bring Cominco Arena to life through impactful visual advertising, fan experiences, and countless game-night elements that create an exciting atmosphere for our community.”
“While this award has my name on it, it is really a reflection of the people I get to work alongside every day and the great things we’re able to accomplish together. I’m grateful to be part of an organization that values innovation, community engagement, and creating experiences that bring people together.”
“Allison has been an excellent marketer year after year in the BCHL,” said Barry Douglas, Chair of the BCHL’s Marketing Committee and Governor and Vice President of Business Operations for the Chilliwack Chiefs. “She continues to lead the Smoke Eaters with her creative and innovative approach.”
