TRAIL, B.C. – The Trail Smoke Eaters Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club announced Wednesday the team has acquired defenseman Trevor Isaksson (’00) from the Nanaimo Clippers in exchange for future considerations.

Isaksson, 18, is currently in his first season of Junior ‘A’ hockey, splitting 21 games between Nanaimo and the Penticton Vees. The 6’2”, 200-pound rear guard posted no points and two penalty minutes in four games with the Vees before playing in 17 games with the Clippers and adding 8 penalty minutes.

“With recent injuries on our blue line, we were looking to add to our overall team size and toughness and Trevor fits that mold,” commented Smoke Eaters General Manager and Head Coach Jeff Tambellini, “As a captain in Major Midget, he adds a layer of leadership to our group as well.”

Prior to his time in the BCHL, the North Delta, BC native played two seasons with the Valley West Hawks of the BC Major Midget League (BCMML), playing in 82 career games while posting 19 goals and 35 assists for 54 points to go along with 64 penalty minutes. Isaksson wore the ‘C’ last season for the Hawks and was a point-per-game player, registering 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points in 36 games.

Isaksson will make his Smoke Eaters debut on Friday night against Penticton and will be wearing #3.

The Smoke Eaters would like to welcome Trevor and his family to the City of Trail and the Smoke Eaters organization.

The Smoke Eaters return to home ice on Friday night as they host the Penticton Vees in search of a fourth straight home victory. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM from the Trail Memorial Centre with tickets available at the Smoke Eaters Main Office as well as at the door ahead of the opening puck drop.
