Coming off of a 7-2 loss on Friday night to the Vees, the Smoke Eaters will be hungry to get back in the win column as they head to Salmon Arm to take on the Silverbacks.

The Smoke Eaters will look to get back in the win column and snap their winless run as they head to Salmon Arm to  on Saturday night. It’s a quick turnaround for the Smoke Eaters after battling the Vees in home ice in Friday, where they fell 7-2 but the score not indicative of how close the game really was. The Smoke Eaters scored late in the first, thanks to a forced turnover by the Parsons, Hunter and Remissong line. Prior to that both Hunter and Marshall were denied on breakaway opportunities in the first. One of the many quality chances the Smoke Eaters created but failed to capitalize. They’ll head into Salmon Arm, hoping to cash in on the chances they create tonight.

Smoke Eaters leading scorers:

Hunter (8-21-29)
Cobetto-Roy (9-19-28)
Remissong (14-10-24)
Fechko (9-14-23)
Parsons (10-12-22)

Salmon Arm almost completed the comeback on home ice of Friday but would fall 5-4 to the Merritt Centennials who used a three goal second period to get past the Silverbacks. Salmon Arm also lost mid week down in Wenatchee, falling 3-2 in overtime and the Sunday prior to West Kelowna, as the Silverbacks find themselves in a three game winless streak. The schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Silverbacks either who find themselves battling for position in the middle of the Interior Conference, as they see Merritt and West Kelonwa to close out the month of January.

Silverbacks leading scorers:

Beckner (12-17-29)
Mackie (17-11-28)
Santa Juana (8-18-26)
Ullrick (14-11-25)
Lambert (9-16-25)

Puck drop form the Shaw Centre goes at 6pm as the Smoke Eaters kick play their last game before the all-star break and their three game to Prince George. Catch all the action on HockeyTV or listen on the Smoke Eaters Mixlr.
