PREVIEW: Smoke Eaters hit the road looking to sweep the Warriors

After a hard fought and tense game Friday night in Trail, the Smoke Eaters head to West Kelowna looking to end their preseason on a high note.

The Smoke Eaters won 2-1 Friday night after battling back from an early deficit vs the Warriors, who were backed by some strong goaltending in Johnny Derrick. The Smoke Eaters got goals from Freeborn in the 2nd and Ozar with the game winner in the third.

This will be the final preseason game for both sides. The Smoke Eaters are playing with a roster that will be equivalent to their opening night one, meanwhile the Warriors still had plenty of players fighting for roster spots as of Friday night.

Through preseason so far the Smoke Eaters are 2-1, while the Warriors dropped to 1-4 after Fridays result. This is the first road test for the Smoke Eaters who will start the regular season with five straight at Cominco Arena.

Tonight’s game can be caught on HockeyTV and Mixlr with Ben Phillips starting a 6:50pm PST with coaches interviews from both sides before puck drop at 7pm.
