PREVIEW: Smoke Eaters look to bounce back against the Bulldogs

The Smoke Eaters wrap up their three game weekend with a test against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, as both teams head to Campbell River.

Regular Season vs Alberni Valley

November 17th @ Rod Brind’Amour Arena 2pm

February 14th @ Trail Memorial Centre 7pm

**NOTE TODAYS GAME IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON MIXLR. NO HOCKEYTV FEED AVAILABLE**

The Smoke Eaters will look to bounce back and start a new winning streak as they take on the Bulldogs in a Sunday matinee. Both teams will head to Campbell River due to on going arena issues at Alberni’s home rink Weyerhaeuser Arena. Due to that an alternative venue in Campbell River, at Rod Brind’Amour Arena (“The Brindy”) was chosen, making Sunday’s game a unique one for both teams. The Smoke Eaters coming off the 4-1 loss to Nanaimo Saturday night know they can be better and will look to take four of a possible six points on this three game weekend. Last season vs the Bulldogs the Smokies had one win and one overtime loss in the two meetings. Both sides come in with an impressive record over the last ten games with the Smoke Eaters at 8-1-0-1 and the Bulldogs 7-1-0-2. Should make for an interesting game at the “Brindy”

The Bulldogs come into this game playing just one competitive match over the last two weeks, and that came Wednesday night in Nanaimo, where they lost 5-4 in overtime. The Bulldogs were down 4-1 going to the third in that game but fought back to earn the single point. That’s been the only action for the Bulldogs who have had to cancel 3 games over the last two weeks. Like the Smoke Eaters, the month of October was a good one for the Bulldogs who put together a seven game win streak, a streak that came off a 4 game losing skid.

Doolin (9-12-21)
