The Smoke Eaters come into Saturday night looking to end their road trip on a high. The Smoke Eaters will feel a bit robbed after their performance on Friday, as Albers played well and so did the team in front of him, hitting three posts and had multiple other opportunities on the night. Now tonight it’s about putting it all together to stay in the race for 7th place. A win tonight and some help next week could still see the Smoke Eaters make that jump to 7th. The goals haven’t been easy to come by as of late for the Smoke Eaters who will need someone to step up here in Saturday night.

Smoke Eaters leading scorers:

Hunter (21-35-56)
Michaelis (26-22-48)
Lagerback (24-23-47)
Disher (12-24-36)
Wolford (11-20-31)

The Wild have a chance to lock up the seventh seed tonight if they can complete the home ice sweep over the Smoke Eaters. Tyler Shea was the difference on the night stopping 30 of 31 shots including a breakaway and a 2-on-1 chance given up by the Wild. The powerplay came through at a crucial time Friday night as well as Cade Little gave the Wild a 2-0 lead. More of that and strong goaltending should be enough for the Wild to take all three games. Ean Somoza, Cade Stibbe and Parker Murray have been a constant threat all weekend for the Wild and will be relied on here as both team battle with the strains of a three in three.

Wild leading scorers:

Somoza (13-38-51)
Littler (20-24-44)
Emerson (12-23-35)
Bohn (14-15-29)
Szydlowski (12-16-28)

Puck drop from the Town Toyota Centre is 6pm as the Smoke Eaters look to take two points back across the boarder with them. Catch all the action with Smoke Eaters broadcaster Ben Phillips starting at 5:50pm on BCHLTV or listen on Mixlr.
