Smoke Eaters host Storm in first pre-season tilt

After a long summer break, the Trail Smoke Eaters are back in action tonight against the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Grand Prairie Storm. The Storm are in the midst of an interior division swing as they come to the BCHL for their pre-season tour. Friday night in Vernon, the Storm took a 3-2 win over the Vipers, despite being out shot 35-17.

For the Smoke Eaters, its been a busy week for those at main camp with two sessions a day and a full intra-squad game Thursday night. Expect a lineup tonight that will look very close to that of the one the Smoke Eaters will use during the Home Opener vs the Penticton Vees on September 6th. There will be a lot of new faces compared to the ones fans last saw in the playoffs to end last season.

Tickets for tonight’s game are $5 with puck drop at 7pm. Fans can also join Ben Phillips and Rob Squires on HockeyTV and/or Mixlr for tonight’s broadcast! It’s the first of a double-header with the Storm with the second going Sunday afternoon at 2pm.
