Trail, British Columbia (January 8th, 2021) – Smoke Eaters add NCAA Committed defenceman Joshua Orrico from the Chilliwack Chiefs.
The Smoke Eaters are excited to welcome in Josh Orrico, who is committed to NCAA Division 1 program St. Lawrence University. Orrico, a 18-year-old right shot defenceman from Woodbridge, Ontario, joins the Smoke Eaters with 25 games played in Chilliwack this season. In those games he’s added two goals and five assists. Despite an interrupted season due to Covid last year, Orrico was named an assistant captain at St. Andrew’s college and played 10 games in the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) with the Islanders Hockey Club. His rookie season as a 16-year-old with St. Andrews saw Orrico tally 32 points in 55 games.
Orrico is committed to St. Lawrence for the 22/23 season and was acquired from Chilliwack for future considerations. The Smoke Eaters are excited to welcome Josh and his family to the City of Trail!
