The Trail Smoke Eaters extend their congratulations to the Penticton Vees, Tyson Jost and Dante Fabbro and Chilliwack Chiefs Dennis Cholowski on their selection in the first round of the 2016 NHL draft. Jost was selected 10th overall by the Colorado Avalanche, Fabbro 17th by the Nashville Predators and Cholowski 20th by the Detroit Red Wings.
College hockey is making a bigger impact in the NHL. A record 305 former college players skated in the NHL in 2013-14 comprising 31% of the league and the numbers continue to grow.
