ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH / ASSOCIATE GENERAL MANAGER

Start Date: June 1st, 2024

Term: 12 Month Contract

Associate General Manager Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate player evaluation, recruitment & selection.
  • Assist GM/HC with day-to-day roster management and transactions. 
  • Provide written/electronic reports on all hockey-related operations which include, but are not limited to, scouting and player recruitment. 
  • Lead player identification and recruitment from all levels for team roster & affiliation. 
  • Lead scouting department with meetings and yearly event planning schedule. 
  • Lead communicator & manager for all TSE regional scouts.
  • Lead all prospect ID camps including promoting, filling and organizing. 
  • Organize and retain all player reports received by position, age and residency status.
  • Ensure communication with hockey operations staff on potential recruits.  
  • Attend hockey events/showcases and major scouting events in North America.   

Coaching Responsibilities 

  • Assist with (YTP) training development plan and daily practices.
  • Assist GM/HC & or lead 5 vs 5 strategies, special teams’ systems, and player personal. 
  • Assist and or lead team video sessions and individual video sessions.
  • Assist and or lead with opponent’s pre-scout, team and individual video presentations.
  • Prepare gameday lineups and input all player/team registration information onto BCHL platforms.
  • Assist in off season coaching duties when required.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities which are commonly performed by the Associate Head Coach/Associate General Manager of a Junior hockey team and/or that are communicated to the Employee by the Employer which are consistent with the terms of this agreement. 

Community Skill/Camp Responsibilities 

  • Assist in organizing and planning of on-ice skill development sessions, including but not limited to Minor Hockey, Spring Teams, ID Camps, and High Performance. 
  • Assist in booking ice for all skill development sessions. 
  • Lead in creating and implementing practice plans for skill camps. 
  • Assist in scheduling on-ice instructors for all camps if needed (Trail Smoke Eaters coaches will be required to be on ice as needed or as requested as approved by the VP of Hockey & Business Operations).
