TRAIL, B.C. – The Trail Smoke Eaters are pleased to announce that former forward Craig Martin (’95) has signed with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL), the affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers.
Martin, 24, is coming off of four strong seasons at Quinnipiac University, boasting 27 goals and 48 assists for 75 points in 134 career games with the Bobcats. The 6’0”, 181-pound winger won an East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship with Quinnipiac in 2015/16 and capped off his senior season with a trip to the NCAA East Regional Tournament this year before falling to the University of Minnesota-Duluth on Sunday.
The Trail, BC native played in 137 total BCHL games split between the Smoke Eaters, Vernon Vipers and Alberni Valley Bulldogs. Martin compiled 44 goals and 54 assists for 98 career points in that span while notching 24 goals and 29 assists for 53 points in 50 career games with the Smoke Eaters.
The Smoke Eaters organization would like to congratulate Craig on his contract and wish him the best of luck this season and in his future endeavours.
Season tickets are now on sale for the 2019/20 Smoke Eaters season and can be purchased at the Smoke Eaters Main Office, located in the Trail Memorial Centre. Office hours are set for Monday to Friday, open between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
