Trail, British Columbia (September 7th, 2022) – The Trail Smoke Eaters, in partnership with the Murphy Family Foundation are excited to offer a special orange t-shirt in support of Truth and Reconciliation and “Every Child Matters” with the proceeds from every t-shirt being donated to the Orange Shirt Society.
The Smoke Eaters home opener on Friday, September 30th coincides with National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, otherwise known as Orange Shirt Day. In partnership with the Murphy Family Foundation, the Trail Smoke Eaters will be selling orange shirts with the phrase βEvery Child Matters,β to raise awareness of and honour the victims and survivors of the residential school system. 100% of the profits will be donated to the Orange Shirt Society, a BC-based nonprofit organization whose work raises awareness of the residential schools and of the belief that Every Child Matters. Shirts will be sold for a minimum donation of $15 with the option to donate more. Join us September 30thΒ in wearing orange to raise awareness of this history and stand in support and solidarity with the survivors and their families.
