The Smoke Eaters are coming off back to back losses last weekend to the Cranbrook Bucks, Where the two games had very different story lines. On Friday night in their home opener in front of 1700 plus fans the Smoke Eaters were a matter of inches from winning the game, however a span of less than 30 seconds decided the game in Cranbrook’s favour late in the third. On Saturday the Smoke Eaters were once again left wondering after a positive start to the game, outshooting Cranbrook 12-6 but still found themselves down a goal after the first period, a deficit they wouldn’t recover from as the Bucks won their home opener 6-0. While it’s still very early in the season the Smoke Eaters are eying up this four game homestand as an opportunity to kick start their season after a 1-3-0-0 start.

Smoke Eaters leading scorers:

Parsons (3-1-4)
Remissong (3-1-4)
Disher (0-4-4)
Cobetto-Roy (1-2-3)
Marshall (0-3-3)

The Wild also come to Trail after back to back losses on the road last weekend. The Wild are finding the net, however the other thing they are finding is the penalty box, something Wild head Coach Chris Clark said needs to change. The Wild in their two games last weekend were shorthanded 12 times and allowed six goals, five of those goals came on Friday night against West Kelowna where the Wild were shorthanded nine times. Newcomer Jonathan Horn has been a bright spot for the Wild early on. Horn was named the BCHL’s second start of the week for his efforts last weekend, scoring three goals and adding three assists in two games. Horn, along with newcomers Gabe Dombrowski and Christian Kim have lead the way offensively through three games for Wenatchee, that mixed with the size of the Wild make them a team not to be overlooked despite a 0-2-0-1 start.

Wild leadings scorers:

Horn (3-3-6)
Dombrowski (2-4-6)
Kim (2-3-5)
Stefanek (1-3-4)
Littler (1-2-3)
