With both teams coming off wins on Friday night, the Smoke Eaters and Vees will clash at the South Okanagan Events Centre on Saturday night.

The Smoke Eaters are coming off a well earned victory on Friday as they knocked off the Merritt Centennials by a score of 5-1. The Smoke Eaters responded after what was deemed a game they should have won the week prior against Powell River. While the Smoke Eaters got goals from all up and down their line up, most of the game ran through Adam Parsons, Nick Remissong and Brady Hunter who all had either a goal or an assist in the night. Teagan Kendrick was also excellent on the night stopping 41 of 42. The Smoke Eaters are going to need performances like that again tonight in Penticton along with both the penalty kill and powerplay continuing their successful run, with the Powerplay scoring in three straight games while the penalty kill has stayed perfect over the last four.

Smoke Eaters leading scorers:

Remissong (6-5-11)
Cobetto-Roy (4-7-11)
Parsons (5-5-10)
Disher (3-7-10)
Marshall (3-6-9)

The Vees took care of business themselves on the road at Royal LePage Place in West Kelowna on Friday night as they picked up a 4-1 win over the Warriors thanks to a three goal third period to break the deadlock. The Vees are playing there third game in four nights as they needed overtime in a comeback win on Wednesday night at home against the Cranbrook Bucks. Both those wins on the week have propelled the Vees to a franchise best start, as the Vees have started undefeated and sit 13-0-0. It hasn’t been without it’s trials and tribulations however with the Vees winning twice in overtime and coming back at the showcase to beat Alberni Valley with a 6 goal third period. The Nadeau brothers continue to lead the way for Penticton and the league and are constantly a threat offensively.

Vees leading scorers:

Nadeau (12-17-29)
Nadeau (8-17-25)
Moravec (7-9-16)
Tinling (6-10-16)
Suniev (8-7-15)

The Smoke Eaters head to Penticton looking to do something no other team has accomplished yet this season, and that’s hand Penticton their first loss of the season in what should be a great game between these two teams who have a rich history and long rivalry. Catch all the action starting ten minutes before puck drop with Smoke Eaters broadcaster Ben Phillips. Puck drop is set for 6pm from the SOEC, watch
