The Smoke Eaters look to head into Penticton and hand the first placed Vees a loss on home ice. The Smoke Eaters have taken the Vees to overtime twice this season but came out on the wrong end of both games. With the injury list once again growing the Smoke Eaters will have to dig deep tonight while also being without Strobel due to suspension. The Smoke Eaters will also look to capitalize on their special team opportunities tonight as they had their looks on Friday but went 0/7 against the Warriors

The Vees come in on a six game win streak as they sit a top the BCHL standings after a tightly contested 3-2 win on Friday night over the Prince George Spruce Kings. The Vees are another team that the Smoke Eaters could see in the first round. The last time the Vees came to Trail it was a back and forth tilt that went 4-4 into overtime. Kaeden Lane also struggled in that game and was pulled by the Vees are allowing the the fourth goal. Since then he’s had two shutouts as part of the Vees run. Both teams are banged up so it’s a matter of who will step up.
