The Smoke Eaters will make their final trip to Salmon Arm on Wednesday night, as they close out the season series with the Silverbacks, looking to kick off the final month of the regular season with a win.

Nov. 13 Salmon Arm 4 at Trail 1 Final
Dec. 17 Salmon Arm 3 at Trail 6 Final
Jan. 14 Trail 1 at Salmon Arm 5 Final

The Smoke Eaters will be looking to get back in the win column tonight against the Silverbacks after a narrow 3-1 loss on Saturday to the Vernon Vipers in their last outing. With the mid week game, this is one of the games in hand the Smoke Eaters have on the teams above them, that makes these two points that much more valuable. The Smoke Eaters are close to getting Max Potvin back in the lineup, who could feature as soon as tonight for the Smoke Eaters. They’ll still be relying on a few affiliate players however, but the list on inured players continues to shrink. The Smoke Eaters have split the season series with the Silverbacks so far, going 2-2-0 against then, with the Smoke Eaters winning two of their games on home ice. The Smoke Eaters lost 5-1 back in January at the Shaw Centre as they head back to Salmon Arm hoping for a better result.

Smoke Eaters leading scorers:

Cobetto-Roy (10-25-35)
Remissong (15-19-34)

The Silverbacks are one of the hottest teams in the BCHL right now, with a 7-2-1 record over their last ten games and five wins in there last six, they won’t be an easy team to beat. The Bucks knocked off both the Merritt Centennials and the Cranbrook Bucks. In four of the previous five wins for the Silverbacks , they’ve allowed just one goal against, with the one anomaly being the game against Cranbrook where the Bucks managed two goals against the Backs. When it comes to special teams both the Silverbacks and Smoke Eaters have had successful powerplays against each other throughout the season series, with the Backs 5/13 over the four previous games and the Smoke Eaters 4/15.
