The Smoke Eaters make their first stop of the year in West Kelowna to play the Warriors. The Smoke Eaters put up and offensive classic on Friday night in Merritt scoring eight times, three of them from Zach Michaelis in his return to the line up. Now as they head to West Kelowna they’ll look to even up their season series against the Warriors. The Smoke Eaters saw the Warriors not to long ago back at Cominco when the Smoke Eaters shut them out with a 4-0 performance. A confidence booster for the team after the first two games against the Warriors went against them. They’ll be without Cole Tisdale tonight due to injury, meaning Fradette, coming of the shutout will get the net once again.

The Warriors have just one game on the weekend and that’s tonight’s visit from the Smoke Eaters. Following their loss on the road in Trail, the Warriors took care of Merritt and Wenatchee 7-1 and 7-4 before a late game collapse last Sunday to the Cranbrook Bucks. The Warriors were up 3-1 with just over eight minutes left in the third before a four goal barrage from the Bucks took the game back and sealed the comeback victory. The Warriors have had a week to think about that loss and will surely be looking to rectify that tonight. The Warriors sit fourth in the Interior conference with 21 wins and 13 losses.
