The Smoke Eaters will play their inaugural game against the Bucks with a Sunday afternoon tilt that is bound to have Kootenay fans on the edge of their seats. Despite going 4-2 against the Bucks in the exhibition season, this will be the first official BCHL regular season meeting between the two Kootenay sides. Both coming off losses to the Vees. The Smoke Eaters will like much of their game from Friday. But as Connor Michaud said post game, it was the little mistakes that cost them, something they will try and eliminate from their game, committing to be better on Sunday afternoon. Expect roster changes for the Smoke Eaters as they try to get their entire 25 man roster into game form as quick as possible. We could see Cayden Hamming get the start as well with a busy week coming up for the Smoke Eaters.

For the Bucks, they’ve got a quick turnaround after playing Saturday night against the Vees. The Bucks scored first courtesy of Cam Reid, However the Vees pushed back and took a 6-3 win over the Bucks on Saturday. The usual suspects for the Bucks lead the way with Zeth Zindrachuk and Walker Gelbard getting two points each. Nathan Airey made his BCHL debut last night facing 38 shots. Meaning we could see Jay Thomson from Canmore, Alberta get his first BCHL start. Thomson has 62 games of AJHL experience under his belt. Through the break the Bucks were able to keep much of their roster intact, as Smoke Eaters fans will see many familiar faces when the two teams face off at 4pm.

It’s game two of the BCHL season as the Smoke Eaters look for their first win of the season. Ben Phillips will have the call of today’s game starting with the Teck Trail Pre-game report starting at 3:45pm.
