Although the Smokies played a relatively good first period it was Salmon Arm who set the tone for the game scoring just :36 seconds into the period. Max Newton tied the score at 1 at 3:16 of the first. Salmon Arm pulled ahead 3-1 on goals by Ross Heidt and Carson Bolduc. Harlan Orr of the Smokies scored at 14:44 to make it 3-2. The Smokies wouldn’t get any closer as Salmon Arm scored four unanswered goals in the second period. Salmon Arm’s Cameron Trost, Ross Heidt and Carson Bolduc scored two, for his hat-trick.
In the third period Salmon Arm added two more goals by Josh Blanchard and Tiro Hirose. Max Newton of Trail scored his second of the game to make it 9-3 for the Silverbacks.
All three stars went to the Silverbacks, Carson Bolduc, Taro Hirose and Joshua Laframboise, 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
