TRADE – Smoke Eaters add NCAA experienced defenceman Dunn

Trail, British Columbia (January 3rd, 2021) – Smoke Eaters have acquired the playing rights to Kabore Dunn from Fort McMurray in exchange for Chris Kobelka and future considerations.

Dunn, a 20-year-old right shot defenceman, who’s played part of the last two seasons at the University of Maine in the NCAA, will join the Smoke Eaters for the second half of the season to finish out his junior career. Dunn earned his commitment to the University of Maine following a stellar 2019/20 season in the AJHL with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons where he had 30 points in 55 games from the blueline. Prior to his stint in the AJHL, Dunn was part of the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) with the Syracuse Jr. Stars where he added another 23 points in 53 games. The Mill Bay, BC native appeared in 11 games for the University of Maine over the last year, including the first semester this year.

The Smoke Eaters would like to thank Chris Kobelka for his contributions to the Smoke Eaters this year and want to wish him the best in Fort McMurray. Welcome Kabore to the West Kootenay’s, we look forward to your first BCHL game very shortly!
