COMMITMENT – SMOKE EATERS ADD LAKE SUPERIOR COMMITTED FORWARD FOR 2021/22

Smoke Eaters Add Lake Superior State committed forward Luke Johnson for 2021/22 BCHL season.

Trail, British Columbia (June 24th, 2021) – The Trail Smoke Eaters are excited to announce the addition of NCAA committed forward in Luke Johnson ahead of the 2021/22 BCHL season.

Johnson, from St. Cloud, Minnesota, joins the Smoke Eaters from the Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). The 19-year-old forward had an impressive season scoring 15 goals and adding 18 assists for 33 points in 41 games., earning him a place on the NAHL South Division All-Rookie Team. Prior to making the jump to Junior A, Johnson was lighting the lamp in the United States High School league in Minnesota for St. Cloud high where his last season saw him put up 48 points in 25 games.

“I’m very excited to have signed with Trail in the BCHL. I chose Trail because of the high interest from the coaches and the focus on development that they have. The facilities and rich hockey tradition in Trail are first class. My goal for the upcoming season is to continue to get better and improve my game for me to be ready for college hockey in the future and I feel Trail is the perfect place for me to do that. Luke will bring energy and pace to our line up and he is coming off strong season where in contributed offensively in a very tough division in the NAHL, says Smoke Eaters General Manager & Head Coach Tim Fragle.
