Murphy Family Foundation gives donation towards “Hawk Hauler” Replacement

For Immediate Release

Murphy Family Foundation donates funds towards new “Hawk Hauler” for JL Crowe

Trail, British Columbia (August 26th, 2021) – The Murphy Family Foundation (MFF) is being acknowledged for their generosity in their most recent donation to J.L. Crowe Secondary School.

The MFF has graciously donated $12,500 towards J.L. Crowe and their purchase of a new school bus used for athletics as well as other opportunities through the Advanced Leadership Academy at the school. The previous school bus was recently deemed unsafe for use, meaning a new one would need to be purchased in order for students to access leadership opportunities and engage in sporting events outside of school.

“David Sterpin of the Adventure Leadership Academy at JL Crowe Secondary School approached the foundation to let us know of a giving opportunity. After meeting, we decided this funding opportunity fits within our mission, and we were pleased to offer the school a gift of $12,500 US dollars to go towards the purchase of the bus.” – Murphy Family Foundation

“The generous donation allowed for a lightly used activity bus to be purchased. The Murphy Family Foundation’s contribution, along with two other local donors, allowed for this purchase. The activity bus will support our students in athletic travel and allow for many opportunities within our local area that will enhance the experiences of our students. I am truly honoured to be supported by the Murphy Family Foundation and feel that many students will benefit from their generosity.” – Aaron McKenzie, Principal at J.L. Crowe.

The Murphy Family Foundation’s mission:
“Young people deserve the right to access opportunities to thrive. Education, the arts, entrepreneurship, and sports hold immeasurable, positive impact for development, and yet many young people encounter financial, social, and geographic barriers to accessing these programs. At the Murphy Family Foundation, we believe the opportunity to learn, create, or play shouldn’t be a privilege. Every young person in every community has the right to thrive, and through dynamic and collaborative giving partnerships we are pursuing an environment that values young people, their needs, their passions, and their gifts. Our funding focuses on youth empowerment through the following buckets: Sports & Play, Arts & Creativity, Entrepreneurship & Economic Opportunities, Education, & Health & Nutrition.
