Preview – Part Two In Prince George

The Smoke Eaters continue their three game set in Prince George, following a 4-2 win on Friday night in the weekend opener.

Season Series Against Prince George

Nov. 18 Prince George 4 at Trail 3 Final
Jan. 27 Trail 4 at Prince George 2 Final
Jan. 28 Trail at Prince George 7:00 pm PST
Jan. 29 Trail at Prince George 3:00 pm PST
Feb. 4 Prince George at Trail 7:00 pm PST

The Smoke Eaters looked confident and not like a team that had been not only struggling to score, but close games out. It was by committee and that will need to continue as the Smoke Eaters prepare for a response from their hosts. The Smoke Eaters blocked as many shots as the Spruce Kings were able to get on target, the penalty kill was perfect and the powerplay hit for one as well. All key parts of the game that the Smoke Eaters will be looking to replicate tonight. Still shorthanded with an 11F/7D set up the Smoke Eaters will once again need everyone to be involved.

Smoke Eaters leading scorers:

Hunter (8-22-30)
Cobetto-Roy (10-19-29)
Remissong (14-11-25)
Bushy (3-21-24)
Parsons (11-12-23)

The Spruce Kings will want to respond, it’s that simple and they have show they can over their last four games. Coming into these games the Spruce Kings had lost on the Friday night and followed it up with a win the next. They’ll be hoping that trend continues tonight after losing on home ice in this series opener. The Spruce Kings lost defenceman Luke Schraeder early o Friday night that put them down to five defenceman for most of the game. There were also a few players feeling the effects of a hard fought game from both teams. We’ll see what kind of changes Alex Evin is forced to make, if any for tonight’s game.

Spruce Kings leading scorers:

Herrington (17-15-32)
Schneider (15-13-28)
Fraser (10-16-26)
Primerano (6-18-24)
McGregor-Bennett (7-16-23)

Puck drop from Kopar Memorial Arena, in part two of three against the Spruce Kings is 7pm with the pre game show getting started at 6:50pm. Catch all the action on HockeyTV or listen on Mixlr.
