Preview – Smoke Eaters Look for Bounce Back in Cowichan

The Smoke Eaters continue their road trip as they head down the Island to Duncan, BC to take one the Cowichan Valley Capitals, looking to get back in the win column.

The Smoke Eaters will once again be looking to put together a full 60 minutes, something they did against the Capitals at the Showcase, as they take on the Capitals on the road. The Smoke Eaters got the production they would have wanted given their shorthanded lineup, playing 11 forwards, that became 10 due to Marshall leaving the game with an injury. That being said the Smoke Eaters put four goals past the Bulldogs, with the powerplay getting involved as well. The Smoke Eaters controlled the game last time they saw the Capitals and they’ll be looking to do the same to get back to a .500 record. The Smoke Eaters get some help roster wise as Jack Kurrle is available after missing the last three.

Smoke Eaters leading scorers:

Remissong (7-6-13)
Parsons (5-7-12)
Cobetto-Roy (4-8-12)
Disher (3-7-10)
Hunter (3-7-10)

The Capitals are also looking to get back in the win column tonight as the Smoke Eaters for the lone time this season, they’re also hoping for a better result after falling 3-2 to the Smoke Eaters at the showcase. The Capitals lost 5-0 to Victoria at home on Friday night, prior to that the Capitals won 4-3 in OT to Coquitlam but had lost their previous 7 games after starting the year 3-1-0. The Capitals have also made a few changes with adding Luke Lavery this week from Vernon, trading out Connor Elliott. Special teams wise the Capitals sit last in both powerplay and penalty kill percentage coming into tonight’s game.

Capitals leading scorers:

Strickland (8-6-14)
Sarantos Lombardi (5-6-11)
Brown (2-7-9)
Goodbrand (4-4-8)
Melady (0-8-8)
