The Trail Smoke Eaters will hit the road for the first time this season as they begin a 3 game weekend starting with a tough test Friday night in Wenatchee.

The Smoke Eaters will look for a positive start to their road record after a tough start to their season. It will be no easy task as they visit a Wenatchee Wild team whose only blemish is a shootout loss. The Wild have started with a 3-0-0-1 record and sit second in the interior division. The Smoke Eaters hit the road looking to leave their home woes behind them after picking up only a point in their first five games. A change of scenery could be exactly what this team needs to finally get their first win of the season. A group that is without a doubt talented enough has yet to show their full offensive strength this season. They have only scored more than two goals as a group twice, both against the Grand Prairie Storm in their first two preseason games. The team is coming off a 5-2 loss on Wednesday night to Powell River where everything went wrong to start the third. Despite the rough start the team showed a lot of push back and determination to open the game and for most part were the better team. They’ll also be looking to build on their special teams performance after picking up their first power play goal of the year while also adding their second shorthanded goal. Fans will also be hoping Tyler Ghirardosi is off and running for the season after picking up a goal and assist on Wednesday night.

The Wild will be looking to continue their hot start to the season once again as they look to be a contender again this season. They are also one of the youngest teams with 13 rookies on their roster. The Wild are also backed by Junior A vet and former Chilliwack Chiefs netminder Daniel Chenard who has started all four of the Wilds games putting up impressive numbers. Chenard has a 1.96 GAA and  0.935 SV%. The wild are also lead by Nick Cafarelli who has six points in the opening four games as a BCHL rookie.

Puck drop is at 7:05pm with the broadcast starting at 6:50 with coaches comments. The game can be seen on HockeyTV or you can listen on Mixlr.
