Smoke Eaters acquire forward Ross from Calgary

Trail, British Columbia (October 17th, 2020) – The Trail Smoke Eaters are excited to announce the acquisition of forward Justin Ross from the Calgary Canucks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL).

Ross, a 19-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, joins the Smoke Eaters after spending the last season with the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL. Ross who’s CJHL rights were with the Calgary Canucks joined the Bandits at the end of their National Championship season in 2018/19. In midget, Ross played with the Calgary Buffaloes, putting up 74 points in 67 games including another 13 points in 16 playoff games. In acquiring Ross from Calgary, the Smoke Eaters send the CJHL playing rights of Kyle Budvarson, who is currently attending post secondary in the UK, along with future considerations.
