The Trail Smoke Eaters are proud to announce their participation in the 3rd Annual Columbia River Cup versus the Selkirk College Saints.
The top two hockey clubs in the West Kootenay Region will face off once again this weekend in what is developing into a great early season rivalry between teams from two different leagues. The Trail Smoke Eaters will look to test themselves against the older Selkirk Saints roster as the 3-Time BCIHL Champion Selkirk Saints will look to get their first game action of the pre-season before they head off to Alberta to continue their exhibition schedule.
The Smoke Eaters will be matching the 50/50 sales from their home game on September 5th at Cominco Arena and donating it to the Gordy Steep Sick Children’s Fund in Trail.
The Smoke Eaters will travel to Castlegar to face a Saints club that has been almost unbeatable in all match play at home over the last 3 seasons. The following night the Smokies will welcome the Saints to Cominco Arena where they are 1-0 in exhibition play so far this season. They will look to continue to prepare themselves for the upcoming BCHL season which begins on Sept.11th when the Smoke Eaters will head to Vernon in the first of a home and home series with the Vipers.

Friday, September 4th at 7PM – Castlegar Complex
Saturday, September 5th at 7PM – Cominco Arena
The Smoke Eaters Home Opener will be Sept. 12th with puck drop at Cominco Arena @ 7:30PM.
