The Trail Smoke Eaters are proud to announce the commitment of Owen McCarthy to the roster for the 2024-25 season.
Owen is a 2008-born left shot defenseman, raised in the city of Trail. McCarthy is currently in his 2nd season at the RINK Hockey Academy in Kelowna. This season, Owen has produced 15 points in 13 games in CSSHL U17 Prep level and last season posted 44 points in 61 games at the U15 Prep level. Owen was chosen in the 4th round of the WHL Bantam Draft and was also selected to represent Team BC this past October at the WHL Cup for the top 2008-born players in Western Canada.

I chose the Trail Smoke Eaters organization because of the rich hockey history, great coaching and first-class facilities, which will help contribute to my growth as a player. My goal for the upcoming season is to continue improving my game and helping Trail to compete for a BCHL championship.
