SMOKIES FACE WEST KELOWNA AT HOME IN KEY DIVISIONAL MATCH-UP

Back from their Xmas break the Smoke Eaters face the West Kelowna Warriors at the Cominco Arena on Wednesday December 30 in a key divisional match-up.  The Smokies are in fifth place, just one point behind the Vernon Vipers who hold down the fourth and final playoff spot.  The Smokies have 34 points on 17 wins and 19 losses.  The Vipers have 35 points on 16 wins, 20 losses and 3 overtime wins.  The Smokies are still within striking distance of the West Kelowna Warriors who are 8 points ahead of the Smokies in third place.  A win by the Smokies would put them just 6 points behind the Warriors.  The Smokies have three games in hand on the Vipers and are even in games played with the Warriors.

The Smokies come into the game on a high note having won 6 of their 9 games played in December.  Led by the stellar goaltending of Bailey MacBurnie the Smokies have come together as a team and find themselves in a great position to overtake Vernon for fourth place.

Game time is 7:30 PM at the Cominco Arena on Wednesday December 30.Wenatchee @ Trail 059
