The Smoke Eaters will look to clean up a few parts of their game as they go into tonight’s matchup against the Wild. While the powerplay had limited opportunities it was an area of the game where the Smoke Eaters had some good looks and opportunities. That mixed with a penalty kill that didn’t let the Wild get established, though late in the game, are some positive take away’s from the game. Both Lagerback and Cunningham got in on the scoring on Thursday night, they’ll need more of that tonight to even out the weekend series.

The Wild came out and got the job done on home ice as they too battle for that 7th seed in the Interior. An early goal from Parker Murray set the tone and then three quick ones after the halfway point was enough to propel the Wild out of the Smoke Eaters reach and give them a three goal first period lead. The Wild will want to replicate that tonight as they picked up their first win over the Smoke Eaters this season and from a Wenatchee perspective it couldn’t come at a better time as they sit three point up now on the Smoke Eaters.
