PREVIEW: Smoke Eaters look to bring home two points from Chilliwack

The Smoke Eaters will look to take both games against the Chiefs as they head to the Coliseum, wrapping up their three game weekend.

Regular Season vs Chilliwack Chiefs

November 23rd @ Trail Memorial Centre 3-1W (BOXSCORE)

December 8th @ Chilliwack Coliseum 2pm

The Smoke Eaters are coming off a loss to the Rivermen on Saturday night where they fell 5-2 at the Lodge. It wasn’t without another strong effort or its chances that the Smoke Eaters fell to the Rivermen. Chase Dafoe continued his strong play as of late with his second goal in as many games, while Connor Sweeney added a goal as the Smoke Eaters put 29 shots on the Langley net. They’ll head to Chilliwack for an afternoon tilt looking to take two points back to the Kooteney’s. In his debut Carson Briere had some chances to score and made some nice plays creating opportunities for the Smokies. When these teams met two weeks ago in Trail it was a goaltender showdown with Logan Terness coming out on top as the Smokies won 3-1, with Max Kryski providing the game winning goal in the second period.

The Chiefs are in the midsts of a busy week themselves as they spent Thursday and Friday in Prince George against their Spruce Kings. The Chiefs brought back four points with them as they won 3-2 and 5-3. They will have the fresher of the legs given the Saturday off but still are shorthanded like the Smoke Eaters. The Chiefs sent five players to the WJAC camp as well with Ethan Bowen pulling out just prior to camp with an injury with Xavier Henry being the lone Chief to make the team. The Chiefs have points in four straight with a win over Powell River, a shootout loss to Coquitlam and then two vs the Spruce Kings.
